At approximately 2:30 in the morning, a private vehicle will pick you up from your hotel in Puno. You will travel for about five hours and forty minutes to the town of Cusipata. Upon arrival, your guide will be waiting at a local restaurant where you’ll enjoy breakfast together before continuing the journey to Palccoyo Mountain.
The initial road is paved, followed by dirt roads through remote Andean villages. This leg of the drive takes around one hour and forty minutes. Once at the parking area, you’ll be surrounded by breathtaking Andean scenery, including high-altitude grasslands, cacti, and native herbs used to feed camelids.
