Itinerary Overview
We leave early in the morning and embark on a challenging but rewarding hike up to Rainbow Mountain. With breathtaking scenery and llamas as companions, we hike for an hour and a half to the vibrant colors of the mountain.
The steep climb will be well worth it once you reach the top and can gaze at the stunning 7-color mountain. After some free time, you will complete this full day excursion with a visit to the Red Valley.
We leave early in the morning we are heading south of cusco for approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes until we reach the Cusipata town, where we will enjoy a breakfast prepared with local products. Then we continue by transport to the starting point of the hike, passing for two checkpoints administered by the communities that control the route to the Rain Mountain.
We started a challenging but rewarding walking to rainbow mountain, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and llamas that accompany us along the way. The walking is aproximatly 1 hour and 30 minutes to get to the vibrant colors of the mountain.
The steep climb will be worth the once you reach the at an altitude of 5036 meters above sea level. (16.523 ft), where you can admire the impressive 7 color mountain and feel the cold wind at high altitude.
After some free time we will head to the Red Valley, a picturesque trail with a breathtaking view of the valley the red and ocher colors. After this adventure, It is time to descend to the parking area and then return to the city of Cusco.
